Ashe juniper, 12”L x 11”W x 11"H.

This core sculpture was carved from the base of a large Ashe juniper (mountain cedar) that had died recently. The intricate swirls of growth rings of both the central trunk and side branches can be seen on all . Dark areas of bark were left intact between major branches. The piece was finished with multiple coats of spar varnish to protect it in case it is placed in the garden and exposed to sun and rain.
