Post oak, 15”L x 10.25”W x 1.6”H.

This piece was carved from a thick slab cut from a large standing dead tree. Because the piece was taken from near the center of the trunk the growth rings are revealed as linear streaks of light (spring) and dark (summer) wood. The lighter wood on the sides is a small amount of sap wood that had not been weakened by white rot. This piece is just right for displaying lemons and other small pieces of fruit.
