Long Spanish oak bowl, 30”L x 9.5”W x 2.5”H.

This long, shallow, Spanish oak bowl was carved from a tree that had recently died from oak wilt. I removed the sap wood, which had been weakened by white rot, but with the exception of a couple of dark cracks, the heart wood retains its beautiful red oak character. This piece belongs on a long table, perhaps displaying fresh fruit or dried conifer cones.
